Articles in this blog has been part of a career plan which Joey, the author desires to pursue until he reach post-retirement. The truth is that retirement is not really an option to Joey as he even took short courses on Information Technology and Journalism in order to support a lifetime advocacy on "sustainability" through creative writing.
Joey’s architectural career ranges from projects involving residential housing development to hotels; from commercial kitchens to food manufacturing plants; and from utility plants to complex industrial facilities, all of which apply the principles of sustainable architecture and design. The basis of Joey’s advocacy is his awareness and concern about sustainable living which he believes should begin in every home. "Hi! My name is Joey Castaneda, retired Architect. Due to the nature of project based work, I used to travel very often, with my wife and three children, and have been stationed in various Asian countries like Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan; also had a couple of visits to Indonesia and Thailand. The only non-Asian country I have been is in Australia, where I lived and worked as an Associate Architect for more than five years.
Currently, I am staying in my home country, the Philippines spending my early retirement days doing this blog and sharing my architectural know-how in a very informal life-coaching style. Would you imagine living a life with a cause, applying the principles of sustainability in every aspect?
